Whether the project is local to our office or across the country, we encourage partnering with the project team including the wall installer, general contractor, geotechnical engineer, and civil engineer to coordinate the retaining wall design with the construction sequence and site conditions. Designs are typically prepared for retaining wall installers but we have contracted with material suppliers, general contractors, developers, architects, and owners; each design meeting the specific requirements of our client.
The combination of our experience in reinforced soil and structural engineering for commercial, industrial, and residential structures results in innovative yet economical segmental retaining wall design.

About Our Company
We were founded in 1983 by principle engineer John T. Van Deurzen. He brought with him ten years of structural expertise in light and heavy commercial, industrial and residential design, as well as knowledge of all types of building materials.
Since its inception, VDA has offered structural engineering capabilities servicing the greater Kansas City area and throughout the United States.
